What will I do as an AmeriCorps Member?
We have two full-time service programs with Promise Corps.
-
AmeriCorps State & National | Directly serve your community at a school site or community center. All AmeriCorps Members serve full time over an 11 month service term.
-
College & Career Ambassador | College and Career Ambassadors will work with high school students and families to ensure that students graduate from high school on track for post-secondary success. Ambassadors will also help students develop an awareness of the many paths and opportunities offered by post-secondary studies as well as how to best manage potential challenges that can arise and how to best related to postsecondary opportunities.
-
Tutor | The Academic Tutor will provide targeted intervention to students in our Promise Neighborhood schools. Members will be assigned a host school where they will provide strategic before, during and after school enrichment. In addition, members will work within the classroom to provide 1:1 and small group tutoring to students who have been identified as off-track in English Language Arts or Math.
-
Volunteer Engagement Project Leader | Develop and implement programs to engage external volunteers that support the work of the Promise Neighborhood and Promise Zone. Actively recruit and train volunteers for their assigned projects.
-
-
AmeriCorps VISTA | Our VISTA members specialize on creating sustainable and capacity building projects. Our VISTA roles are typically in community development, education technology, family engagement, student success, or programming operations. VISTAs serve full time over a 12 month service term.
