HOW YOU CAN HELP

Promise Neighborhood Schools

Promise Neighborhood schools focus on partnerships between a school and its community. They integrate academics, youth development, family support, health and social services, and community development. For just $250,000 per year, YPI can provide in one school: a community school coordinator, community advocate, academic tutors, college and career advising and curriculum, and health and wellness programming.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Early Childhood Education

Our youngest learners are provided with comprehensive early education from birth to age three. Additional services include providing and linking families with health, mental health, nutrition, and social services. Early Head Start has a strong parent involvement component and services specifically designed for pregnant women, all at no cost to the family. Children in foster care, families at risk and/or in crisis, homeless families, and children with disabilities receive priority for enrollment.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Nutrition,
Health & Wellness

In-school programming helps students and families improve fitness and general nutrition through physical activities and health workshops. Many Promise Neighborhood residents are at risk for a range of obesity-related health issues, and we work to equip family members with access and resources for better nutrition and health. Through a Community-Supported Agriculture program, some of the lowest-income families can have access to farm-fresh fruits and vegetables. A donation of just $28 per week helps feed a family of four.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Centers align services with those provided in schools, enabling customized support for each family member. Support to Promise Neighborhood Centers includes comprehensive case management and an integrated range of services including classes for English-language learners, housing and food supports, workforce preparation, and legal and tax assistance.
