Early Head Start

Early Head Start (EHS) is a full eight-hour early childhood education program for infants and toddlers (from six weeks to three years of age). We provide early, continuous, intensive, and comprehensive child development and family support services to low-income infants and toddlers and their families, and pregnant women and their families, including added support to children with suspected or identified disabilities.

Impact Statement

The Early Head Start program promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of infants and toddlers through the provision of educational, health, social and other services to enrolled children and families. Early Head Start engages parents in their child’s learning and helps parents in making progress toward their educational, literacy and employment goals.
