Sergio J. Morales
Director of Health and Wellness
Sergio J. Morales is YPI’s first Director of Health and Wellness, a new and emerging department in the agency. He brings more than 15 years of experience and expertise in working in communities of color providing culturally and linguistically competent services focused on issues related to: Black and Latino gay men’s health, domestic violence, harm reduction, and community organizing.
Sergio joined YPI in June 2013 as the Assistant Director of Community Centers-Hollywood for the Los Angeles Promise Neighborhood. He was responsible for managing the Hollywood FamilySource Center.
Prior to joining YPI, Sergio spent seven years working at Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center in Hayward, CA, where he managed school-based health centers that offered primary care, mental health services and health education programming to middle and high school students and their families.
Sergio Morales attended the University of California at Santa Barbara and earned a BA in Chicana/o Studies and a BA in Sociology. Sergio earned a Masters in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco.
