What do you want L.A. to be like in 2050? At the Youth Policy Institute (YPI), the answer is simple - a city with a stronger, more effective educational system for all children.
YPI and the Los Angeles Promise Neighborhood have entered the My LA2050 competition to define the best ways to improve Los Angeles by the year 2050. YPI believes that President Obama’s signature initiative Promise Neighborhoods is a cradle-to-college-and-career model that can be replicated throughout the entire City of Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Promise Neighborhood was recently awarded $30 million by the U.S. Department of Education, one of only seven awards nationwide. Your vote for YPI’s proposal can lead to school transformation at the core of community transformation across L.A.
Support YPI's efforts by voting for the Los Angeles Promise Neighborhood in the competition that is sponsored by the Goldhirsh Foundation from April 2-17. All votes and comments help position the proposal among the finalists for a $100,000 grant.
