For months, hundreds of students at more than 40 schools in and around Pacoima created their own research-based science projects. On May 21, 2016, the teams of students who won their divisions at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, competed at YPI’s STEM Showcase: Building a Better Tomorrow, hosted at Vaughn International Studies Academy.

Approximately 200 students competed at the regional showcase, with winners from schools including the Multicultural Learning Center, Camino Nuevo Charter Academy Burlington, Camino Nuevo Charter Academy Kayne Siart, Lakeview Charter Middle School, Vista Heritage Middle School, PUC Excel Middle School, North Hollywood High School, Wallis Annenberg High School, and Los Angeles International High School.
